The Netherlands, also commonly known as Holland is a very small country in Europe which lies on the North sea next to Germany and Belgium. It has a population of around 16,609,200 people which is way, way, way, more than New Zealand and since the Netherlands is way, way, way, smaller it makes it a very crowded country. Did you know, that 20% of the country is below sea level and 21% of the population lives on that 20% of the country, which is below sea level? The government is Parliamentary Democracy and Constitutional Monarchy.

The Netherlands is best known for their tulips, windmills and clogs. Clogs, which are wooden shoes were traditional dutch footwear worn by the common people. Less well known is that they are the eighth largest exporter of goods and the worlds third largest exporter of food. They are also the largest cheese exporter in the world!
